Liability
Tradesman Insurance is set up to provide you with cover against financial losses arising from situations at work. Whether you come up against a personal injury, legal action or liability issues, a tradesman insurance policy should provide you with the protection you require.
There are three main types of liability insurance required for any type of tradesman’s business:
- Public Liability
- Products Liability
- Employers Liability
Public Liability
For any tradesman, public liability is an invaluable investment. Whether you damage someone’s property or if someone’s injured because you’ve left some tools lying around, a public liability policy will protect you. You won’t even have to stop working while the claim is being settled.
Products Liability
This covers the customer in the event of a claim relating to parts installed by the tradesman. In the majority of cases, if a claim is made against you regarding a part used then your insurers can then pursue the manufacturers in turn with reimbursement in the event that the part is found to be defective.
Employer’s Liability
A company has a responsibility to make sure that all staff are working in a safe environment and are not exposed to any dangers.
This cover is designed to protect those working for you in the event they had an accident whilst on site, under your employment. Sub contractors can be included under this cover, but make sure you declare any payments / wages paid by you to Bona fide or Labour Only Sub-Contractors.
